Sheffield Print Fair 2013...

Wow...what a fantastic day our first print fair turned out to be, with over 600 visitors we couldn't have hoped for a more successful turn out for our inaugural event in our home town of Sheffield.

We had an official photographer, Jenny Halse, to record the day and she has made her images available to view on Flickr, they really give you a feel of the success of the event. You can take a looksee by following this link:

Here's to 2014's event, let's hope it even more successful than the last one, but it will be a difficult act to follow.

New collages and prints and a studio move...

News to share...I'm happy to report that my Hawthorne Etching press has made it safely up three flights of stairs, is now back in one piece and still works as well as it did in it's new position in the Attic Studio.
I had forgotten just how heavy it was but hopefully now I've taken over my new space it won't need to be moved again, at least not for a very long time.

Some other good news that two exhibitions planned for the New Year are now confirmed.
I have some new collages and prints to show so looking forward to 2014 immensely.

Hot Bed Press 20:20 for 2013

The 20:20 event organised by Hot Bed Press Printmaker's Studio in Manchester has been even more successful this year with lots of artists and print workshops taking part across the country.
A selection of the prints will make up a touring exhibition starting at West Yorkshire Print Workshops, Mirfield in the New Year http://www.wypw.org/.

Much more about the planned tour of the prints and the ethos behind the event can be found at the Hot Bed Press website http://www.hotbedpress.org/

Here is my piece for this year.....

a multi layered relief print based on my impressions of the landscape surrounding my home town with muted colours reminiscent of those misty early spring mornings, just as the sun is starting to come up over the horizon but the foliage and buildings still hold their shadows.

More images of all of the work entered into this years 20:20 can also be found on the Flickr page by clicking on this link http://www.flickr.com/photos/hot_bed_press

I thoroughly enjoy entering in this event and look forward to receiving my box of prints from WYPW who I have participated with for the last two years but I'm hoping that next year I will be part of the Sheffield Printmakers group entry. Here's to 2014's 20:20 event.
